Hidden Cocktails: Pink Gin

With the huge number of cocktails out in the world, it’s not surprising that a few fall through the cracks. There are hidden gems in those lost cocktails, delicious drinks that everybody would probably enjoy. This week we're checking out Pink Gin!

 

 

When it comes to simple cocktails, Pink Gin takes the cake. Made from only two ingredients, this drink is easy for anyone to learn. In the nineteenth century, it was a favorite drink of the British Royal Navy because the bitters used were believed to combat seasickness and indigestion. It’s gone unnoticed for some time - but has been seeing a revival among vintage cocktail lovers.

 

Ingredients

  • 3 dashes of  Angostura Bitters
  • 2 ounces of gin
  • (Optional) Soda Water

Directions

  1. Put your dashes of bitters into the chilled glass
  2. Swirl the bitters to coat the bottom of the glass
  3. Add the gin
  4. Add ice and stir
  5. (optional) add soda water
